The European scene is full of talents and creativity, undoubtably worth watching. The potential entertainment for the casual viewer or the hardcore fan is definitely there. And maybe you are entertained by those weekly cups organized by ESL and The European Dreamhack Season that ultimately ends up with Happy winning it all, dropping few to no map at all?
The 4th edition of Ugri's Challenges is announced for June 12th.
Long time ago, Ugri's challenges used to see Korea and Europe challenging each other in epic battles for the 4v4, 3v3 and 2v2 titles.
Free For All was always meant to conclude the series of challenges in order to go full circle. Thanks to the coronavirus outbreak and the extra free time we are getting from it, let's finally do this !
With Reforged incoming at the end of the year, 2019 will be a turning point in Warcraft 3 history.
We at Warcraft3.info wanted to mark the occasion with a big announcement of our own!
On March 10th, the first season of the Warcraft3.info League will kick off (W3iL S1). We aim to make the league an essential event in your Warcraft 3 calendar with a decent prize pool and a regular broadcasting schedule.
The 3rd edition of Ugri's Team Challenges is announced for February 9th and 10th.
Korea dominated the previous two challenges with the victories of Team Akatsuki in the 4v4 edition (ReMinD, ReprisaL, FoCuS, Lucifer) and of Team JoYuRi in the 3v3 edition (LawLiet, FoCuS, Lucifer).
This time we decided to promote new maps made by talented map creators from the HiveWorkshop.
When you first hear about this strategy, it sounds either like a joke or like the ultimate humiliating defeat.
That is until you see TH000 losing against Infi on ladder! With acolytes gaining speed and durability in patch 1.30 and being fast to produce, they start to be a viable choice for any Undead wanting to end the game right there at the beginning of the game.
To the inexperienced eye, Free For All (FFA) often looks like a game without skill, purely based on either luck or manipulation. These comments, which I've often heard in the past, are reminiscent of what we can hear about poker just being a game of luck which gamblers play.
From a name well known in FFA circles is Seksi, comes the result of his extensive experience. He now wants to share his complete knowledge of FFA with us all, through a 90 pages guide (yes, we did say "complete knowledge" after all, but don't get discouraged just yet). Read on to meet Seksi and get access to his guide.
On December 11th, ToD expressed, once again, his frustration with the Keeper of The Grove on Twitter. Matt Morris, Lead Designer at Blizzard's Classic Department, actually answered him, asking for more detailed feedback.
ToD delivered by uploading a quality video detailing his point of view about the current (im)balance. Specifically the meta he perceives to exist in favour of the Night Elf race.
The video itself is worth an article as it covers various points, some of which you may contest even - so please do watch it. However, apart from running though the main points, I want to focus on the process of taking feedback itself, and two example angles that are also relevant for this current patch potentially.
December 14th is Moon's birthday! The Korean legend is 32 years old today.
His fans already had obvious reasons to celebrate as their idol became, once again, the World's Champion, after his WGL title.
Jang Jae Ho holds a special place in Warcraft 3's history as the greatest of all times. His Chinese fan club decided this year to collect funds to finance a school library in the Fujian province.
And then there were four. Moon, Lyn, Infi and Foggy were the last fighters to remain standing in the arena. Among them, only the Ukrainian with no major title to his belt yet.
With the two Korean titans battling it out in their bid for a place in the finals, Foggy had to defeat Infi, his offline nemesis.
